Welcome to the Puzzle, a sacred world where identity is not permitted. Many years ago, all people of the Puzzle lived as one until the ancestors’ arrival. The gods claimed to be saviors from another planet. Algoos was the first of the ancestors to arrive. His arrival dawned a new era of human suffering as he believed that all growth comes through lessons of pain. After many years of suffering, many citizens began to wish for the presence of a new god that could match the power of Algoos.
After many more years of pain, the appearance of a new ancestor arose.” I am Naauao.” As the Ancestor spoke, citizens began to follow the Ancestor’s lead. Many believed Algoos’ methods were harsh and immoral. Naauao, unlike Algoos, believed in unity and pushed all her followers to be caring, giving, and to participate in equal work. Many people considered Naauao to be naïve and a wishful thinker. So once again, several citizens began to pray for the presence of a new God. And just as they wished, a new ancestor arose — known as Wyshed.
Wyshed was unlike the other ancestors. The god was not interested in being worshipped by humans and withheld his teachings. Many citizens would journey to great lengths to gain knowledge from the god as most thought highly of Wyshed’s philosophies. As time went on, his following grew very large. Many conflicts emerged as citizens argued and fought one another over which Ancestor was to guide the human races. Tension grew high until, eventually, a civil war erupted. The war lasted for 12 years, with many casualties and suffering. The war finally ended with the ancestors intervening as they could no longer stand by watching this chaos. The ancestors decided to meet in the center of the world. After two months of discussion, the ancestors finally agreed. The agreement stated that All land would be divided between the ancestors and their followers. All followers are forced to choose a group and follow an ancestor.
Algoos (pain), Naauao(unity), Wyshed(wisdom). In the wake of the war, ancestors forbade citizens from showing their identities as they believed this would allow the human race to begin anew. As the civil war was ferocious, many fathers were pitted against their sons’ and many mothers disowned their daughters. Many bonds were severed that could never be repaired. As citizens began choosing which Ancestor they should follow the ancestors had come to an agreement.
Each year, groups will battle in the arena known as the “Puzzle.” The Puzzle shall determine whose teaching shall prevail.
